Welcome to The Foresters
|
My name is John Riddell, I took on this lovely privately owned country pub tucked away in the woods in November 2008, with Head Chef Andrew Wimbush.
When I saw the Foresters I felt that it was unique in the area; as it was the type of country pub that all love, but sometimes struggle to find. . . . . . You know – relaxed warm & friendly, welcoming both drinkers and diners, yet with an informal but also professional approach to service and food.
The Foresters has a traditional pub side, and a slightly more formally laid-out conservatory side with a fire place in the centre. The décor is, I think, traditional with a few contemporary touches. In the evenings both areas are |
candle lit.
We have a lovely secluded mature garden where like inside you are welcome to drink and or eat; the perfect place for relaxing in the sunshine on those rare occasions when the heavens decide to clear.
Because we believe that our guests should chose how they use us, they are welcome to order at the bar or just flop down in a chair or seat and we’ll come and take your order, whether it be for a three course meal or simply a coffee. I know that this sounds dreadfully European, but let’s face it, some of those in the Euro-zone are pretty savvy when it comes to eating and drinking! |
